MASON-DIXON WINE TRAIL WELCOMES TWO NEW WINERIES

YORK, PA – The Mason-Dixon Wine Trail, a collection of 16 family-owned wineries located within a short drive of the famous Mason-Dixon Line that separates southern Pennsylvania from northern Maryland, has announced two new winery partners.  Both wineries serve as wonderful assets to the region as a wine destination and give visitors new opportunities to sip, savor and explore along the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail.

 

Detour Vineyard & Winery overlooks the Catoctin Mountains in Carroll County, MD. The new winery held its grand opening celebration in May and promises great wines and memorable activities for valued guests. In addition to custom wine making and vineyard tours, Detour plans a series of annual food/wine/music festivals, wedding and special event facilities, classes, and more. The winery currently offers a wide variety of wines, with a focus on fruit and dessert wines, custom blending of American, French hybrids, and vinifera.

 

Longtime wine trail fans may remember Seven Valleys Vineyard & Winery in southern York County as a favorite location with award-winning wines and beautiful surroundings.  The winery is now reopening this summer with new owners, who look forward to continuing Seven Valleys’ tradition of providing fine wines in a lovely atmosphere.  Once open, Seven Valleys will have a variety of dry, sweet, and fruit wines, including its special “Gettysburg series.”

The year-round Mason-Dixon Wine Trail is managed by the York County Convention and Visitors Bureau (YCCVB). Made up of 16 wineries in southern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland, the Mason-Dixon Wine Trail is a wine destination filled with sprawling vineyards, boutique tasting rooms and welcoming winemakers in York County and beyond.
