A Marilyn Monroe Exhibit, Painting Studio & Artists-in-Residence

PHOENIX - June 11, 2012:  The Arizona Biltmore (www.arizonabiltmore.com) will be the canvas this summer for three creative art events:  The Marilyn Paintings: Portraits of the Goddess exhibit by Ludvic, studio painting classes with wine and cheese, and artists-in residence painting in the resort lobby. The art events are part of "Hollywood & Wine," the resort's exciting Hollywood-themed family festival offering a full calendar of entertainment and activities throughout the summer.

Marking the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's deathThe Marilyn Paintings: Portraits of the Goddess exhibit at the Arizona Biltmore is an artistic tribute to the legendary actress and frequent Biltmore guest whose favorite swimming pool was at the resort (the Catalina Pool). Ludvic's work on the subject of Marilyn Monroe is unequaled. He has been passionately and innovatively painting and sketching portraits of her since the 1980's. The exhibit, which will be on display all summer long through Sept. 5, showcases the many techniques employed by Ludvic to capture his impressions of Marilyn, from large-scale oil paintings to more intimate works on paper using watercolor and gouache. The artist has his "Marilyn" creations displayed near the Kodak Theater where people and celebrities have lined up to have their pictures taken with the paintings during the past three Academy Awards. The most dramatic of these paintings are being featured at the Biltmore. He has also exhibited his Marilyns at the famous Hollywood Museum. The public is welcome to come view the pieces, which are on display in the resort's History Hall and the lobby.
