"Feel Like a Kid Again" Promotion Sends Adults Down River
At Child Rates on Select Middle Fork of the Salmon Rafting Safaris
Through Far and Away Adventures

SUN VALLEY, ID, April 16, 2012 ˆ Far and Away Adventures (http://www.far-away.com/), whose authentic American river safaris blend whitewater rafting with wilderness adventure and backcountry luxury, will send adults down river at children‚s rates on select departures this season as part of its „Feel Like a Kid Again‰ promotion.

„The Middle Fork of the Salmon River Safaris and our late summer Wellness Weeks on America‚s premier wilderness river absolutely make you feel like a kid again,‰ underscored owner/founder Steve Lentz. He said that 80 percent of guests who have taken this trip return for another wet and wild adventure with his company.

Early season trips are marked by higher, faster water enabling more time off-river to hike, explore, soak in hot springs and relax. This year‚s exceptional high country snowfall bodes well for a long and exciting season on the Middle Fork of the Salmon.

The following early season departures now accommodate adults at kid‚s rates: May 28-31, 4 day/3 night, regularly $1,775 adult, now $1,575 for both kids and adults; June 6-10, 5 day/4 night, regularly $2,250 adult, now $2,050; June 15-20,  6 day/5 night, regularly $2,750 adult, now $2,450. Later in the summer, in an adults-only atmosphere, Far and Away Adventures has introduced new Wellness and Fitness Weeks on the Middle Fork with counseling and activities led by Margie Caldwell Cooper, a fitness educator, relaxation trainer and former competitive swimmer from Santa Barbara, CA, who was designated Aquatic Exercise Association Global Fitness Professional of the Year in 2006. When not taking her skills on the road (or river) Caldwell is a trainer at the award-winning Rancho La Puerta health spa in Baja, Mexico.

In a pristine riverside setting, Caldwell will introduce new and advanced stretching techniques and lead daily warm-up and yoga sessions before each active day on the river. Morning guided hikes to enjoy scenery and view petroglyphs increase participant‚s endurance and cardiovascular fitness. Personalized stretch sessions and kinesthetic awareness activities drawn up by Caldwell after individual assessments will give each guest a specific individualized program for improved posture and increased flexibility and range of motion. Massage and bodywork sessions in the ambience of the quiet river evenings will loosen joints and lengthen muscles, improving posture and balance.

„Feel Like a Kid Again‰ rates for this wellness program are offered as well; Aug. 27-Sept. 1, regularly $2,750, now $2,450; Sept. 6-11, regularly $2,750, now $2,450. http://far-away.com/whitewater-wellness-weeks/

On its Wellness Weeks, Far and Away Adventures hopes to appeal to active couples and solo travelers looking to combine a world-class adventure vacation with a strong wellness element. Lentz likes to point out that, „this is also prime time for fly-fishing on legendary blue ribbon waters. A companion who would rather angle for Westslope Cutthroat Trout will be well accommodated.‰ Lentz notes that an experienced angler can bring 100 fish a day to the boat.

As guests journey down on the river with Far and Away Adventures guides set up and break down five-star camps along the bank. They prepare and serve organic meals on pre-heated stoneware atop linen-draped tables lit by candlelight while pouring into crystal stemware wines selected from organic and small-batch wineries. The guides also arrange solar-generated hot water for showers, and state-of-art tents with elevated beds, flannel bedding, carpets and nightstands.

Far and Away Adventures has been sharing the excitement of paddling with adventuresome guests since 1980. Simply, the wonders of nature and those created by Far and Away Adventures for guests plying these and other privileged waters create a new category for those who seek experiences above and beyond the ordinary. Far and Away Adventures‚ guests are moved beyond world-class into a universe where luxury and wilderness blend marvelously together.
