New York - March 6, 2012: Jerusalem will host its first-ever International Ice Festival, featuring artistic ice sculpture displays, ice skating rinks and a special ice bar at the Old Jerusalem Train Station, today through April 13, 2012.

The festival will transform the Old Jerusalem Train Station into a magical "ice world" showcasing dozens of specially commissioned colorful ice sculptures created by Chinese artists. The festival will also feature ice skating performances including characters from well-known children's stories; a fantasy arena with fairytale scenes and unique ice slides; and an ice bar including ice sculptures by Jerusalem-based artists and a replica of the Jaffa Gate made entirely out of ice.

"We are excited to announce the first-ever Jerusalem Ice Festival," said Haim Gutin, Israel Commissioner for Tourism, North and South America," which will transform the Old Jerusalem Train Station into a special ice-centric world."

The festival will also showcase a "Jerusalem of Ice" exhibition displaying ice sculptures of the Tower of David and the Montefiore Flour Mill, among others.
