FORT COLLINS, CO, Dec. 13, 2011 – ExperiencePlus! Bicycle Tours, in 1972 the first North American tour company to offer pedal tours in Europe (http://www.experienceplus.com/), is rolling out new-for-2012 wine and cycle tours in Chile to be experienced for 8 or 11 days.

 

An 11-day Bicycling Chile’s Wine Country Plus! the Pacific Coast embraces one of the most prestigious "new world" wine producing regions, Chile's Central Valley, that in recent years has produced a number of award-winning wines. The cycling-culinary-photography adventure then turns south to explore Pacific Coast beaches, enroute visiting historic colonial cities such as Santa Cruz and Constitucion, secluded villages and beach towns. Departures are March 12-22 at $4,395 per person double and Oct. 20-30 at $4,595 per person double. Single supplements are $600. Rates include use of a quality 27-30 speed bicycle, 10 nights accommodation, all breakfasts, 7 dinners, 3 lunches, van support, bilingual tour leaders, 3 wine tastings and visits to wineries. Guests are shuttled to and from Santiago, the host city.

The 8-day program is an abbreviated version and is scheduled for March 12-19 at $3,400 per person double and Oct. 20-27 at $3,550 per person double. Single supplements are $500. Rates include use of a quality 27-30 speed bicycle; 8 days, 7 nights accommodation, all breakfasts, 4 dinners and 3 lunches with 2 wine tastings. Guests are shuttled to and from Santiago, the host city.

On both itineraries guests visit award-wining wineries and are invited to official wine tastings. There is also the option to visit boutique wineries that may not yet have extensive distribution in the US. The tour visits wineries in the Colchagua Valley region that Wine Enthusiast named “Wine Region of the Year” for 2005 due to its world-class red wines.
