Press Release: Resplendent new look for Stuttgart luxury hotel

The Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin in Stuttgart has undergone extensive renovation and conversion works during which guest rooms, the lobby the OLIVO gourmet restaurant and the events area have all been given a facelift. The ZEPPELIN DAY SPA has also been expanded to 500 m² and redesigned.

The Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin, a traditional style luxury hotel located in the heart of Stuttgart, is presenting a new face to the world following a major €20 million makeover of everything from its lobby to the OLIVO gourmet restaurant. Renovation works also focused on increasing the size of the hotel’s guest rooms, the number of rooms being reduced from 190 to 155 in the process.

Room design is in classic modern style and provides a harmony of darkly coloured woods set off against surface areas of glossy red. Warm hues have been chosen for the textiles and leather coverings used. The prevailing decorative features of the generously proportioned bathrooms, which offer a double washstand, a bath tub or a floor-level shower, are cream coloured natural stone, dark wooden fittings and partly satinated glass. Sophisticated LED lighting enhances the stylish atmosphere of the rooms and bathrooms. Flat screens with laptop and MP3 player connections are standard in every room category. Pictures of the sights of Stuttgart are in evidence throughout the hotel and serve as a reminder that the building itself was designed by the famous architect Paul Bonatz.

The reception hall, which features a combination of lightly coloured wall panellings and accents in purple and mother-of-pearl, exudes elegance and creates an inviting atmosphere. The focal point here is the lilac lighting of the reception desk itself. The events area includes eleven fully air-conditioned rooms and a business centre and now offers state-of-the-art technology. The two Board Meeting Rooms are equipped with comfortable leather armchairs and a private minibar and provide the ideal venue for smaller-scale discussions.

The hotel’s spa facilities have also been redesigned to create the ZEPPELIN DAY SPA, a 500 m² facility which provides views over the rooftops of Stuttgart and is an ideal place to relax. The design of the spa is in Asian Zen style, the prevailing features of which are warm shades of red and gold and precious woods. The pool area has also been reconfigured and now offers an outside terrace and a sauna facility with an aroma steam bath and Finnish sauna. An exclusive spa suite is available for private rent by guests. The gym extends over 70 m² and provides breathtaking views of Stuttgart city centre.

The OLIVO gourmet restaurant has also been redesigned. High-quality parquet flooring, lightly coloured leather chairs and a fireplace lend a classical elegance to a restaurant which has been awarded one Michelin star and achieved a total of 16 points in the Gault Millau. The OLIVO is under the direction of new head chef Nico Burkhardt and serves French style international cuisine.
