Cultural Immersion Program Lets Jet Setters Join a Semi-Nomadic Maasai Tribe while Simultaneously Helping Build a New Classroom at Esoit Academy in Kenya



LOITA HILLS, SOUTH WESTERN KENYA (SEPTEMBER 9, 2011) - The award-winning Olarro Luxury Lodge has partnered with Extraordinary Journeys Africa (specialists in customized African safaris) to design a unique six night trip to Kenya that combines a community exchange program with the Maasai people and a spectacular safari adventure. The rate of $6,000 per person sharing is normally $7,200 and includes a significant donation to building a much needed new classroom for the local community.

Include in the price is:

  • Six nights accommodation; all meals; flights within Kenya; guided game walks and game drives; donation to community projects; and all transfers (10% commission on each booking)
  • Community Project: $500, included in the overall cost, will be donated on behalf of those who        booked  the trip to building a new classroom at Esoit Academy in Kenya. This project is spearheaded by Under the Acacia, which works in tandem  with remote communities in Kenya to generate sustainable initiatives and community development.

"The first two nights will be spent at the luxury Olarro Lodge, in the Loita Hills, October 10-11," said Elizabeth Gordon from Extraordinary Journeys. "In partnership with Under the Acacia, guests will spend time with the community of Maasai and meet with chiefs, elders and students. The next day, guests can participate in the school opening ceremonies at the new Esoit Academy and inscribe their names on the wall in commemoration.
