When The Roxbury began offering its extremely popular elopement package this past winter, owners and partners Gregory Henderson and Joseph Massa never dreamed that within the year, they could add gay couples to the wonderful mix of elopement ceremonies and marriage proposals already being celebrated at their contemporary “boutique motel” in New York’s Catskills. As a result of the recent legalization of same-sex marriage in the state of New York, The Roxbury is introducing the very first elopement experience designed to help gay couples tie the knot – that will be fun, funky, and fabulous.
 
New York State of Mind Experience:
Gay couples can make a brand new start of it – and now with New York state’s approval – head to the Catskills [www.theroxburymotel.com] with an elopement package from the best little motel with a lot of mojo. Officiant and wedding organizer, Henderson has been waiting for this moment in history and didn’t skip a beat [except maybe for an excited heart,] to commemorate this day with a wedding gift from The Roxbury – a custom monogrammed photo album inscribed on the front with, “A Celebration of the First Year, 2011 / Our Marriage in New York State / The Roxbury Motel,” complimentary bottle of Champagne for toasting to wedded bliss and pampering passes to The Shimmer Spa.

1 and 2 Night Stays*:
Sunday–Thursday, $325 per night; Thursday - Sunday, $375 per night
(Welcome bottle of champagne, Shimmer Spa passes and nightly stay in luxury suite included. Additional- $300 cost for officiant and commemorative gift. Mandatory two-night minimum stay on weekends.)

3 or More Night Stays*:
Sunday- Thursday, $425 per night; Thursday- Sunday, $475 per night.
(Inclusive of an officiant, Champagne, Shimmer Spa passes, nightly stay in luxury suite, and commemorative gift.)
 
* Exclusive of Room tax and gratuity. Additional options for purchase include flowers, cheese platters, Shimmer Spa services, chocolate-covered strawberries, and dinner at The Peekamoose.  Based on availability; double occupancy only.  Elopement room packages are final and a non-refundable deposit equal to one-night’s stay is applied.  A minimum of 72 hours’ notice is required. Guests are responsible for procuring marriage license.
