Wine, Pecan, & Antique Festival and Verde Valley Wine Tour

01-05-2008

Camp Verde, AZ - Camp Verde, Gateway to the Verde Valley in the HEART of Arizona, enjoys a long agricultural history. Each year, the Camp Verde Parks and Recreation Department honors the community's rural makeup by hosting a popular Wine, Pecan and Antique Festival. This year the award-winning event is Friday-Sunday, Feb. 8, 9 and 10, in the Camp Verde Community Center in downtown Camp Verde.

Pecan products at the festival come from local growers with pecan pies promising to be fresh and homemade. Over 30 booths feature antiques and collectibles from vendors throughout the Southwest. There are free hayrides and tours of Summer Place Pecan Farm, demonstrations provided by the Yavapai County Master Gardeners, and live entertainment.

Marking its 8th year, this festival showcases ONLY Arizona wineries, including up-and-coming local Verde Valley vineyards.
Keeping in the spirit of its abundant ranching and farming heritage, a new cottage industry of grape-to-wine production has cropped up in recent years in close proximity to Camp Verde with five nearby tasting rooms. Tour directions are available through the Camp Verde Chamber of Commerce.
