De-stress While Building Creativity and Strength

01-04-2008

An increased desire to limit our impact on the environment has created a new demand for green meetings, and eco-friendly meeting venues. Sunrise Springs Resort Spa is committed to more and more ways to choose green, and in doing so is making it easy for meeting planners and meeting goers to fulfill their commitment to the environment.

Using Sunrise Springs as your location for your next corporate retreat will not only support your group's environmental commitment but will also offer your group many added on benefits such as the custom programming to de-stress, team-build and build creativity. The tranquility of the private 70 acre oasis allows participants to stay focused and relaxed at the same time.

Built of reclaimed wood, mud and straw, the resorts' newer buildings are designed in alignment with the nature that surrounds them. Energy-saving light bulbs grace the many outdoor walkways and paths. Guest rooms feature pressure-reducing showerheads, and organic locally made in-room amenities. The fireplaces in public areas and the restaurant burn firewood gathered from around the property. The property is built around two spring-fed ponds and organic gardens.

Focus and Clarity

Whatever your groups' focus is, it will be made richer by the offerings at the Sages Arts Center. Plan to include classes and activities that relieve stress, build strength, deepen creativity, and enhance teambuilding. While both Tai Chi and Yoga build physical strength, the meditative aspect of Tai Chi builds inner focus and balance, and is especially effective if done as a group. Glazing and painting pre-made bisqueware, as well as hand-building in the Raku Pottery studio, is not only creative, but can be very relaxing. Participants can work together to create personal stamps or a sake or teabowl set to be presented as a commemorative gift. Chinese brushwork encourages self-expression with discipline — guests also find it relaxing and focusing. The peaceful atmosphere of the Tea Ceremony, is often used as a way to build rapport within a group by focusing the mind and opening the hearts of people experiencing it together.
