I am extremely pleased to present the February issue of Recce: Literary Journeys for the Discerning Traveler.
This month in Soundings, we feature a conversation with Dr. Aruna Uprety, one of South Asia's most prominent women's rights activists, whose work preventing the trafficking of young girls in Nepal has become a model. In Brilliant Books, Tim Cahill recounts unexpected culinary adventures in Peru, Papua New Guinea, and elsewhere on the road. In Roundtable, legendary travel writer Jan Morris describes opening a new life-chapter when she reads a beloved book on her brand new iPad. And in Fresh from the Field, we showcase an eye-opening portfolio of Vassi Koutsaftis 's photos from a recent journey to Southeast Asia.
Finally, in Illuminations, I recall an unforgettable April three decades ago in Japan, when the cherry blossoms suddenly bloomed.
You can click on any of the links below to read these. I hope you enjoy this issue, and I'd appreciate any feedback you want to send my way.
Wishing you wonder-filled travels!
