LANSING, MI – The 2011 Michigan Travel Ideas magazine is now available free of charge from Travel Michigan, the state’s tourism promotion office (michigan.org). The 120-page, full-color publication is complemented by expanded online content helpful in planning a trip to the Great Lakes State.

Michigan Travel Ideas is both a useful guide and a don’t-leave-home-without-it magazine filled with informative stories and wonderful photos, insider tips and resources for mapping out a short getaway or extended vacation,” said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan, a business unit of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

2011 Issue Highlights

From the beach to blacktop highway adventures, and Motown to the Upper Peninsula wilderness, Michigan Travel Ideas offers interesting things to see and places to go all year ’round. It includes a handy guide to Michigan state parks and campgrounds and a listing of convention and visitor bureaus and regional tourism associations.

Articles include a colorful look at the Secrets of Autumn, and Motown Remastered, a view of the city from the tour company Inside Detroit.

Lake Effect refers to wintry fun to be had in the bountiful snow Michigan enjoys courtesy of the Great Lakes, while @ the Beach will have the surf and sand crowd reaching for the sunscreen.
