As we find ourselves in the winter holiday season, Boundless Journeys would like to share some holiday stories from our guides. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, winter solstice, Diwali, or other significant festive occassions, our guides would like to share their favorite holiday traditions with you.

Whatever your holiday traditions, we hope they are wonderful and full of good cheer.

Happy holidays,

Matt Holmes

Snowshoeing in the forest, from Brenda Holder, Canadian Rockies

For me, I like to celebrate the season by just being outdoors. It is a special time, when my husband, son, and I meet up with my sisters and their families and we put on snow shoes in the pristine snow. It feels Christmassy in the backcountry when it is snowing heavily, and it is so quiet -- all sounds are muffled by the heavy snow falling down around us. Then coming back to a crackling fire, a beautifully lit tree and a hot mulled wine, makes it feel like Christmas to me!

Cheers,
Brenda
