A SWISS BREAKFAST TRADITION REVEALED AT ZURICH'S RENOWNED BAUR AU LAC
Muesli

New York - November 18, 2010:  Originally created at the turn of the 20th century by Swiss physician Maximilian Bircher-Benner for his hospital patients, Müesli is well-known as a healthy and nutritious breakfast -- and can also be quite delicious...with the right recipe.  The Baur au Lac, Zurich's most renowned hotel, serves what many consider Switzerland's best version of this popular cereal, and the hotel is now revealing its secret recipe:

Birchermüesli Baur au Lac (Serves 3-4)

Ingredients:
¼ cup oatmeal
¼ cup granulated sugar
½ cup farmer's cheese
½ cup plain yogurt
1/3 cup half & half
½ cup lemon juice
1 cup orange juice
¼ cup golden apples, peeled and chopped
¼ cup pears, peeled and chopped
½ cup bananas
1/3 cup strawberries
1/5 cup blackberries
1/5 cup blueberries
¼ cup raspberries

Preparation:
Mix all ingredients to combine, and enjoy!

En guete!

ABOUT THE BAUR AU LAC:
Recently voted 'Top Hotel in Zurich' by Condé Nast Traveler readers (November, 2010), the 120-room hotel is a short walk from Zurich's world-famous Bahnhofstrasse, the central Paradeplatz, Lake Zurich and the city's bustling financial district. The hotel recently completed an approximately $41 million renovation, revamping its Pavillon and Terrasse restaurants as well as various rooms and suites.  It is also home to the Rive Gauche restaurant, a place to see and be seen in Zurich.
