Participants in the inaugural Kuparisaari Triathlon, August 15 will be the first to participate in the U.P.’s longest distance multisport race in the northern-most part of Michigan. The Kuparisaari Tri is the only half iron distance triathlon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and will offer scenic shoreline views of Lake Superior, some of the Midwest’s best biking and even fresh baked pasties at the finish line or maybe it is the Finnish line, since Kuparisaari is Finnish for Copper Island.
