How To Keep Great Vacation Memories Alive

Trusted Adventures Travel Alliance Shares Tips on How To Keep Great Vacation Memories Alive

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, July 29, 2010 ˆ The nine award-winning travel companies in the Trusted Adventures http://www.trustedadventures.com/ travel alliance share one thing in common. They want to be remembered ˆ in scrapbooks, on video, at cocktail parties, over the dinner table.

„A wise man once said a third of your vacation enjoyment comes from researching and planning it, another third from actually enjoying it and the remaining third from reminiscing and sharing photos and stories with friends and family afterwards,‰ said Brad Moss executive director of Trusted Adventures. So Moss surveyed his membership on how to keep trip memories alive. Here are five ideas.

1) Build a scrap book / photo album to illustrate your memories. A Trusted Adventures member The Wayfarers, for example, jump starts the process with a personalized gift of a photo album given to each guest at a farewell dinner. Another good resource is the new free online journaling and scrapbook application from Everlater (http://www.everlater.com/).

At the final group dinner, we give everyone a personalized photo album with shots taken during the week along with a trip „badge‰. They usually pack the album in their carry-on for viewing and reminiscing on the plane ride home!‰ said Judy Allpress of The Wayfarers.

2) Send postcards of your adventures to everyone on your priority list to elicit conversations when you arrive back home. You can also keep friends in the loop by posting photos to Facebook and sending traveling Tweets.

3) Gather friends and family for a post trip slide / video travelogue. Serve beverages and foods garnered while traveling. Ask the tour company you traveled with to provide a guide, preferably one who was with you the first time around, to participate by telling stories, showing slides and talking about the next trip to be shared by those attending.

4) Utilize social media! Blog about your experience when you return. Submit a quick vacation report to TripAdvisor.com. "Tell the world" what a great time you had. Post videos on YouTube and pictures on photo sharing sites such as flickr.com.

5) Stay connected with folks you traveled with and involved with organizations you met or were exposed to during your trip. This includes donations to charity and volunteer organizations you became aware of. Exchange email address with fellow travelers, swap photos and remember it is never too early to start planning your next trip together.
