BEIJING'S SUITCASE CINEMA

07-16-2010

LEISURE TRAVELING AUTEURS HIT BEIJING'S OPPOSITE HOUSE FOR SUITCASE CINEMA

99-Room Boutique Hotel in Sanlitun Offers Canon Camcorders and iMacs for Quick Editing

WHAT: The Opposite House has partnered with Apple and Canon for its latest unique offering, Suitcase Cinema. A spacious Studio 70 comes with a 24" iMac and Canon camcorder so leisure travelers can capture Beijing on video from their own viewpoint and create a "short reel" with iMovie. The package also includes breakfast for two and the use of a bicycle, map and a limited edition Short Stays DVD.

WHO: Anyone from amateur auteurs to business travelers to reality TV housewives will enjoy the ease of creating videos with the Suitcase Cinema setup. The Opposite House, by Kengo Kuma and Swire Hotels, has won several awards since opening in 2008, from Robb Report to Conde Nast. It was named one of the 'Top 5 Party Playgrounds Around the World' by the Tatler UK Travel Awards 2010.

WHEN: The Suitcase Cinema offer is valid through December, 2010.

WHY: Following the successful launch of Short Stays (short-stays.org/trailer) by three young and talented Chinese film directors, Liu Jiayin, Zhao Ye and Peng Lei at The Opposite House, the cutting edge hotel is now fulfilling guest desires to direct their own short films with the Sanlitun district as their colorful setting. The burgeoning, upscale Beijing is still en vogue after the last Olympics, and The Opposite House is its architectural darling.

HOW: The package costs RMB 2,800 (approx. $414 USD.) For more information visit www.theoppositehouse.com. For reservations and enquiries, please contact reservations at +8610 6417 6688 or emailreservations@theoppositehouse.com.
