Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau Launches PLAY Campaign

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND—The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau (AAACCVB) is celebrating summer with a new website look and a new promotional campaign that focuses on the many ways that individuals and families can PLAY in the destination.

An enhanced VisitAnnapolis.org homepage makes it easier than ever before for individuals to plan their PLAY time in Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. Viewers can now access the answers to frequently asked questions by clicking on new columns that are located front and center on the homepage.

The new Connect & Engage option enables viewers to see at a glance what’s being shared about the destination on its Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Flickr pages. A new Check it Out business spotlight will focus on the unique attributes of a different AAACCVB partner each week. Couples who have set the date will want to click on the new Plan my Wedding option that connects viewers to a list of the organization’s service oriented partners.

AAACCVB President and CEO Connie Del Signore says her organization modified the website to provide better customer service. “We have been monitoring consumer behavior on our website and have implemented changes designed to enhance the user experience. Our ongoing improvements continue to shorten the time and lessen the effort that it takes for individuals to retrieve the information they need.” Del Signore says the modified user-friendly website provides the perfect platform for launching her organization’s PLAY campaign.

The two-part campaign kicks off July 1 with a testimonial photo contest. Visitors to the website are being invited to share the activities they have enjoyed at the destination by uploading their favorite photos and testimonials to the AAACCVB’s website. Individuals can vote on their favorite photos through August 31 by using the Like button. Prizes will be awarded on a bi-weekly basis throughout the campaign, and a grand prize winner will be posted following the close of the contest.

While homepage images for the first phase of the campaign will highlight summer recreational opportunities, the focus will shift to fall activities when phase two of the PLAY campaign kicks off on September 1 with an online scavenger hunt. The contest will invite visitors to locate three fun-fact icons that are hidden amidst the pages of the VisitAnnapolis.org website. A grand prize winner will be posted following the October 31 close of the PLAYcampaign.

The AAACCVB will promote its four-month PLAY campaign through its social media outlets and through user-generated sites, including TripAdvisor and [Back to Press Releases Main]
