YOGA FOR FOODIES JOURNEY AT MII AMO IN SEDONA

Presented by David Romanelli and Mii amo Chef Steve Sicinski, December 2 - 5, 2010

SEDONA, AZ - June 15, 2010 - Mii amo is pleased to welcome back David Romanelli and his passion for all things yoga, wine and cuisine to the Sedona destination spa December 2- 5 for a three-night Yoga for Foodies Journey at Mii amo.

This year's Yoga for Foodies retreat begs the questions:
  • Have you ever had a meal so delicious that you want to physically, emotionally and spiritually prepare for it?
  •
  • Wouldn't a flowing vinyasa class and a backbend or two only help you fall deeper in love with Southwestern inspired flavors?
Yoga for Foodies guests will embark on a Mii amo Journey filled with flowing yoga, powerful music and huge flavors, skillfully prepared by Mii amo Chef Steve Sicinski. Starting from $2,190, Journeys at Mii amo are inclusive of spa accommodations, three daily meals at Mii amo Café, and two spa treatments per day. Guests can take part in more than 10 daily complimentary activities, ranging from outdoor adventures like red rock hikes and mountain biking, to fitness classes and the spa's art sessions, cooking demonstrations, lectures and Native American Programs.

Romanelli and Sicinski have prepared the following activities for guests to embrace the power of yoga paired with Mii amo's Intelligent Cuisine during the Yoga for Foodies Journey.

Thursday, December 2

Orientation & Welcome Dinner

Friday, December 3

Yoga for Foodies (Fast Music, Fun Yoga, Slow Food)

9 - 11 a.m.

The retreat will kick into gear with flowing yoga, great music, and a simple reminder that life is short - we best slow down and savor it. After yoga, when you are relaxed in a sweet state of mind, Mii amo Chef Steve Sicinski will guide you through a tasting of his creations. You will recognize that in a post yoga state of mind, not only are you more in touch with the subtleties of the soul, but also in fresh, whole foods which can only come straight from the earth.

Yoga + Miracles: With Wine, Anything is Possible

4 - 6 p.m.

This one-hour vinyasa flow workshop will stretch, lift, twist, and open your tightest muscle of all...the brain. Little shifts in the mind can do wonders on the body. Rocking tunes, a splash of wine, a little inspiration, and the magic of optimism.

Saturday, December 4

Yoga + Eternal Youth: The Power of Chocolate to Ignite the Spirit

9 - 11 a.m.

In the world's remote corners, mountains, and islands, indigenous people exist who defy the test of time. They exhibit miraculous strength, instinct, and immunity to aging...What is their secret? This one-hour vinyasa flow yoga experience will blend music, exotic chocolate and indigenous tradition to trigger your body's innate power to conquer disease and live fully from youth to the golden years.

Yoga for Foodies (Small Bites, Huge Flavor)

4 - 6 p.m.

So often in our culture, we demand that everything is large and plentiful. In this one-hour deep stretch yoga class, you'll recognize that our greatest moments and memories have less to do with quantity and everything to do with quality. When are truly relaxed in the moment, the world abounds with flavor. When we are distracted and overwhelmed, even the greatest glass of wine is lost to the demands of the day. After class, when you are deeply present, Chef Steve Sicinski will share the beauty of spa food and how small bites with huge flavor satiate every level of being.

Sunday, December 5

Group Breakfast and Closing Ceremony

8:30 - 10 a.m.

Since 2004, David Romanelli has been traveling the world sharing his Yoga + Chocolate and Yoga + Wine experiences. The purists have been known to challenge his blending of ancient tradition with modern tastes, sounds, and passions. But those who prefer their yoga coated in chocolate, seasoned with humor, and lavished with Marley have enjoyed his workshops and debut book, "Yeah Dave's Guide to Livin' the Moment: Getting to Ecstasy through Wine, Chocolate, and Your Ipod Playlist." David has been featured in O MagazineNewsweek, and The New York Times and last year his book reached #1 on the Amazon.com Self-Help Bestseller List. David is co-founder of At One Yoga in Scottsdale, AZ.

Steve Sicinski, Mii amo Chef, joined Enchantment Resort in 2006. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, he refined his classically French trained skills for several years before becoming the chef at Mii amo and creating the spa's acclaimed Intelligent Cuisine. The knowledge of French cuisine allows Sicinski to be very aware of "the enemy" in regards to fats and calories. He consistently produces delicious fare, but uses techniques and ingredients that create the same delectable items, just with lower calorie counts and reduced fat. Sicinski coined the term Intelligent Cuisine, and incorporates his techniques of adding flavor, without adding fat, to his recipes. Sicinski is a huge proponent of doing things simply, using the best, and most fresh ingredients. "Eating becomes very habitual, and if you set yourself up with an intelligent way of dining, you can maintain a healthy diet without struggling to meet traditional crash diet demands." Sicinski's cooking demonstrations are one of the most popular activities at Enchantment Resort and Mii amo.

He enjoys teaching guests simple techniques and recipes, while sharing basic cooking information that they can incorporate into their daily routines that will have a healthy impact on their lives. In 2009, "A Journey of Taste" cookbook was published with more than 50 recipes most often requested by Mii amo guests. The book's suggested menus present ways to pair the recipes into great meals for everyday dining and entertaining. Mii amo's cuisine is often recognized by leading publications; most recently the spa's fare has been featured in Bon Appétit, Glamour, Spa Magazine, Men's Health, Skin Inc., and Natural Health.
