DENVER IS MAGICAL DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON

11-23-2007

DENVER With the snow-covered Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, Denver is a magical place to be during the holiday season.

Parades and lighting spectacles are accompanied by traditional holiday concerts.  Santa arrives in Denver by sea and by train, while there are numerous outdoor events including ice skating, carolers, roasting chestnuts, ice sculpting contests and even a tuba concert.

The Mile High City boasts some of the nation’s most colorful holiday lighting shows, from the more than one million twinkling lights that can be found along Denver’s mile-long pedestrian promenade, the 16th Street Mall to the 300,000 lights that bedeck Larimer Square.

From the romance of The Nutcracker (performed in the new $92 million Ellie Caulkins Opera House) to the wonder of floats and balloons in the Parade of Lights…from the tradition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol to the beauty of hundreds of glowing luminarias lining Santa Fe Boulevard, the holidays in Denver have something for everyone.
