A London Toy Story

12-15-2009

51 Buckingham Gate and Hamleys
Conjure Up Childhood Dreams

LONDON, (December 15, 2009) - 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites & Residences announces an exclusive partnership with London's finest toy store, Hamleys. The collaboration offers a number of amenities to families staying in 51's suites, including a Hamleys toy hamper, private store tours, in-store discounts and personal shopping experiences, as well as four tickets to a West End theater production.

Upon check in, children will be welcomed with a Hamleys hamper, filled with treats and sweets to ensure they feel like mini VIPs. Budding young chefs can enjoy cooking or baking lessons in their private suite kitchen with the hotel's chef, complete with a personalized junior chef's jacket. Parents can also take a well-earned break by calling on the hotel's qualified babysitting service during their stay.

The Hamleys experience continues nearby at the flagship Regent Street store, where seven floors of toy heaven await. Here, children can discover the magic of Hamleys, from the latest games to Lego castles and life-sized giraffes and elephants. 51's concierge can also arrange exclusive after-hours visits to Hamleys and even themed sleepover parties in the store.

Once wearied legs have been sufficiently rested, families can head to the theater in London's West End (Susie McKenna and Steven Edis' adaptation of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol', starring Gareth Hale runs through January 10).

Located in Central London - just a stone's throw from Buckingham Palace, St James's Park and the West End's shops and theatres - '51' is positioned around a secluded courtyard garden and offers the largest serviced suites in London. A veritable 'home away from home', its elegant suites come complete with their own separate kitchen and living spaces, and children's amenities, such as junior bathrobes and slippers.

The Hamleys at 51 package is available from £495 (approximately $805) per night for two adults and two children up to 12 years old sharing and includes:

  • Accommodation in a Superior Suite
  • Hamleys welcome hamper (includes teddy bear, doll for girls or toy London taxi for boys, coloring books and pencils, lollipops)
  • Personal shopping experience at Hamleys with in-store discounts
