BRIDES MAGAZINE TURNS UP THE HEAT

On Newsstands August 11, 2009

August 10, 2009 – NEW YORK, NY – For the first time ever, the editors of BRIDES Magazine have scanned the planet and hand-picked the 10 steamiest resorts for newlyweds to escape to after their big day in the September/October issue, on newsstands August 11th.

Honeymooners are sure to have an unforgettable time sampling cultural cuisine, sipping local drinks, relaxing (or partying), at these 10 sizzling vacation locations. Whether newlyweds want a honeymoon where they’re more likely to bump into a sea turtle than other guests, or if they’d rather party pool-side at night, our editors found a spot for every bride and groom’s interest and budget.

·       Las Ventanas al Paraíso | Los Cabos, Mexico - A frequent for celebrity vacationers such as Jennifer Aniston and the other Tinseltowners.  At this hotspot sunning is the order of the day, so slip on that tiny bikini and enjoy plenty of poolside entertainment.

·       Hermitage Bay | Antigua, The Caribbean - At this retreat, honeymooners are interruption free. Most of the 25 colonial cottages have plunge pools, and all have wraparound balconies with ocean views.

·      Jade Mountain | St. Lucia, The Caribbean - The allure of this high-design hotel lies in its playful extremes: Futuristic bridges lead to palatial hilltop suites with wood-and-stone interiors and infinity pools that run the length of the room. Showers feature six rain heads, the whirlpool has multicolored lights, and the front of the room is open to mountain views. This high up newlyweds will feel like they’re sleeping in the sky.

·       Maroma Resort and Spa | Riviera Maya, Mexico - Rooms are as Mexican as can be, with hand-painted tiles and mosquito-netted beds. The milk-white beach is one of Mexico’s best. Honeymooners wishes are Maroma’s command: dine in the jungle or even on the roof.

·       Four Seasons Hualalai | The Big Island, Hawaii - A winding road through lava fields leads to this retreat where celebs hide out. Honeymooners will find bamboo furnishing, an aromatherapy turndown menu, plus Hawaii’s top spa. Newlyweds can’t beat a romantic, evening walk along torch-lit, plumeria-scented trails.

·       Mystique | Santorini, Greece - An Aegean seascape, seen from the pool or room, will make honeymooners feel as if they’re among the Greek gods.  Newlyweds can hang out in their Cliffside suites or enjoy a glass of wine out on their terrace – either way it’s heaven.

·       Trisara | Phuket, Thailand – Trisara delivers what newlyweds crave most, privacy. Bungalows that look like sprawling penthouses are plunked on a beachfront hill. Each has a pool, outdoor dining, and fabulous Andaman Sea views. Bathrooms have tubs made for two, plus couches and shutters where honeymooners can admire the waves while brushing their teeth.

·       Le Tahaa Resort and Spa | Motu Tautau, French Polynesia  - It’s easy to play ship wrecked lovers here. The resort sits on a private island near Raiatea, and has a serene little spa and a treetop restaurant. Most of the 60 bungalows rest on stilts that rise from a lagoon: Honeymooners can descend the deck steps, stand in the sand amid warm water and vibrant sea life, and relish the feeling that, for now, this is their backyard.

·     Viceroy Palm Springs | Palm Springs, California - This oasis was designed for nighttime mischief.   The lobby bar opens onto the adult pool which bustles well after dark. Couples can escape to the “Ice Haus,” a patio where couples can cool their desert fever with icy rubdowns.

·     Gansevoort South | Miami Beach, Florida – If honeymooners want a sexy, scorchin’ party this is the place. During the day, newlyweds can sun at the third-floor pool and at night hit the rooftop revelry and enter a mojito-fueled scene.
