About Denali National Park

Denali is an internationally designated biosphere preserve with six million acres of rugged wilderness just 300 miles south of the Arctic Circle and is considered the “jewel” of the national park system.  Home to North America’s tallest mountain, a diverse variety of plant life and abundant populations of moose, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears and wolves, Denali offers a unique visitor experience due to minimal intrusion from outside traffic or environmental influence.  Park access is limited to a single road that allows for prime animal viewing.

Denali has a little something for everyone – whether you’re a hard-core outdoors fanatic or looking for a relaxing way to take in the culture and history of Alaska while enjoying fine dining and luxury accommodations.  In addition to easily arranging wilderness tours, river rafting trips, guided hikes and nature walks and a Husky Homestead tour operated by a three-time Iditarod champion, the newly renovated and expanded McKinley Village Lodge (on the banks of the Nenana River, eight miles south of the Park entrance) offers visitors other upscale comforts.
