A SUPERIOR WAY TO GET OVER ‘THE HUMP’

06-22-2009

Superior Small Lodging Properties in Greater Fort Lauderdale Lend a Helping Hand with “Wednesdays are Free” Summer Promotion

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.June 22, 2009 – For allied pilots in World War II, “The Hump” was the highest mountain range in the world. That’s where the term for “getting past the hardest part” originated. These days, with all the worries about the economy, jobs and home prices, just getting through the week sometimes seems like climbing the Himalayas. So, Superior Small Lodgings in Greater Fort Lauderdale are doing their part by making the day of the week known as “Hump” Day free.

From July 1 through Labor Day, guests staying a minimum of two nights – Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday - at the 32 participating members of Superior Small Lodging (SSL) hotels or inns will receive Wednesday night absolutely free. They may even be welcomed with a glass of wine or other sweet surprise, which makes the significant savings – three nights for the price of two – an extra special treat.

“For many, Wednesday is the hardest day of the week. What better way to get a little boost this summer than by rewarding ourselves with a free night stay at some of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s most distinctive, colorful and intimate lodgings?” said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The dozens of Superior Small Lodging properties in Greater Fort Lauderdale are cozy, high quality accommodations with 50 rooms or less. Distinguished by their friendly ambience and personalized service, these hotels, motels and inns each offer a distinctive personality, style and character. Many properties feature kitchen facilities and lushly landscaped grounds and pools and are ideal for vacationing families. Membership in the collection is determined by an annual independently conducted property review process guaranteeing that Greater Fort Lauderdale guests will enjoy their visits in a clean, safe, welcoming and well-run establishment.

SSL properties offering “Wednesdays are Free” are located in Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Lauderdale by the Sea, Dania Beach and Hallandale Beach. Promotion details and booking links to participating SSL properties are available at www.sunny.org/SSL . Please note this offer is not valid with any other promotion or discount, and is based on the daily rates of the individual properties.
