NAPLES, FLA. - (June 19, 2009) - Naples Grande Beach Resort has introduced a new Junior Golf & Tennis Camp for ages 7 to 15 this summer. Plan a family vacation at this eco-smart beach resort and the kids can learn the rules and basic fundamentals of playing golf, tennis or both in your choice of four-day sports camp sessions to be held June 23-26, July 14-17 and August 4-7.

Naples Grande Junior Golf & Tennis Camp details:

  • Four half-day camp sessions of two hours daily golf (8:30 - 10:30 a.m.) OR tennis (11:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.) instruction are offered for $175; costs include clubs or tennis racquets
  • Four full-day sessions of two hours daily golf AND tennis instruction as well as daily lunch break and swimming at the resort's Hibiscus pool (8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) are offered for $300
  • Each four-day camp session is limited to 14 participants ages 7-15
  • Golf instruction takes place at the Naples Grande Golf Club, an 18-hole championship course designed by Rees Jones, under the direction of Mark Durland, Director of Instruction at the Naples Grande Golf School who was named 2008 Teacher of the year by the South Florida PGA
  • Tennis instruction takes place at the Naples Grande Tennis Center, which features 15 Har-Tru clay courts managed by Peter Burwash International, under the direction of Fabio Vasconcellos, Tennis Director at Naples Grande Beach Resort
  • Camp session dates are Tuesday-Friday, June 23-26, July 14-17 and August 4-7, 2009
  • Available to children of resort guests on first-come reserved basis

Camp participants are advised to wear sneakers or soft spike shoes for golf, smooth-soled shoes for tennis. Full-day campers are advised to bring a box lunch (can be arranged from 'Spressi in the lobby), towels and swimsuits with them each day. Parents need to arrange transportation from the resort to the Golf Club; transportation is provided from the Golf Club to the Tennis Center. Tennis-only campers can walk to the Tennis Center adjacent to the resort's Bungalows.

In addition to swimming, golf and tennis, summer fun at Naples Grande can include kayaking in the adjoining 200-acre nature preserve and mangrove estuary. Or take the family for a bike ride or stroll on palm-lined streets to the nearby shops, restaurants and galleries. In the evening, adults can relax in the resort's Aura Bar, complete with Gulf-inspired "underwater" glass bar and inviting lounges beneath mood-setting glow lights.
