Muay Thai’s Most Anticipated Fight with the Sport’s Biggest Rivals

Nathan “Carnage” Corbett and Tyrone “King of the Ring” Spong will Battle During a Week of  Cultural Events Hosted by Cedric “The Entertainer” to Benefit Caribbean Schools

 

LOS ANGELES, May 14, 2009— RISARC Consulting, LLC and its’ charitable arm CCGI Foundation announce all new program and dates for its Fifth Annual Caribbean Classic Golf Invitational. The series of events taking place at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach & Spa Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica during the week of June 24th – 28th, 2009, will be highlighted by the latest addition of what is considered to be the ultimate Muay Thai dream card, CCGI’s “Champions of Champions II”, and the sports ultimate match up of Tyrone “King of the Ring” Spong vs. Nathan “Carnage” Corbett.   The Fifth Annual CCGI four day fundraising event will be hosted by Cedric “The Entertainer” to benefit Caribbean children and help funds for computer learning centers in Jamaican primary schools.

The Fifth Annual Caribbean Classic Golf Invitational’s schedule of activities includes:

  • Wednesday, June 24th - Celebrity VIP/Culture Show/Welcome Party
  • Thursday, June 25th - CCGI Amateur Golf Tournament and Jamaica Comedy Showcase MC’d by Cedric “The Entertainer”
  • Friday, June 26th - Champions of Champions II Muay Thai Fight Night & Cultural Fashion Show
  • Saturday, June 27th - CCGI Celebrity/Pro-Golf Tournament and CCGI Black Tie Gala

 

First introduced to the Caribbean Classic Golf Invitational in 2008 Muay Thai is a form of martial art practiced in large parts of the world in which hands, shins and knees are all used extensively to execute strikes using eight “points of contact.”  CCGI’s Muay Thai ‘Champions of Champions II’ will take place in a custom designed CCGI arena on the beach and will include a who’s who of the Muay Thai global community from around the world. List of competitors set to battle include Angela Rivera-Parr (USA), Julie Kitchen (UK), Rayen Simson (Netherlands), Marco Pique (Seriname), Liam Harrison (England), Eugene Ekklelboom (Australia), Mosab Amrani (Morocco/Holland), Patrice Quarteron (France), Dzhabar Askerov (United Arab Emirates), John Wayne Parr (Australia), Yodsaenklai Fairtex (Thailand), Buakaw Por. Parmuk (Thailand), Paul Slowinski (Poland/Australia), Anuwat Keawsamrit (Thailand), Andrei Kubelin (Belarus), Steve Wakeling (England), Kaoklai Kennorasing (Thailand) and Clifton Brown (Canada/Jamacia). In addition and for the first time ever, Muay Thai rivals Nathan Corbett (Austraila) and Tyrone Spong (Netherlands) are set to fight in what is shaping up to be the most anticipated Muay Thai fight of the decade.

 

 “We are very excited to announce our fifth series of cultural and sporting events to benefit Jamaica’s youth. For the past four years we have successfully helped over 60 schools,” said Richard Stephenson, CCGI Founder and President of CCGI and RISARC Foundation. “In addition to our annual golf championship, we once again will include the global phenomenon of Muay Thai martial arts and bring this sport to a global audience during the Champions of Champions II Muay Thai fight night.”

 

Each year the events composing the Caribbean Classic Golf Invitational attract celebrities, sports figures and comedians. Past participants include Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Bill Bellamy, Steve Harvey, Sandra “Pepa” Denton, Anthony Anderson, Tony Siragusa, Cedric “The Entertainer,” Jack Ford, Julie and Chandra Costello and more.
