• Cross-country flights between May 20 and May 27 are on sale.  A recent fare between New York and San Francisco was $108 each way, a Washington D.C. to San Diego fare was $85 each way, and a Boston to Los Angeles flight was as low as $79 each way.  The best fares were found for Saturday-to-Wednesday and Wednesday-to-Wednesday itineraries.

• New York City offers some great deals for shows and events during the holiday weekend including “Mamma Mia!” starting at $65 and “9 to 5” from $55.  Both shows are discounted by 45 percent.  Tickets to Off-Broadway’s “Altar Boyz” start at $30, a discount of 60 percent.

• Le Méridien San Francisco, a AAA 4-Diamond hotel located near the Embarcadero and most other major attractions, is lowering holiday weekend rates to $139 per night, a significant savings from regular rates of $325 per night.
