Wilderness River Adventures Announces a Brand New Experience

05-01-2009

Cataract Canyon, Canyonlands National Park

Page, Ariz. – April 23, 2009 – Wilderness River Adventures, a concessioner of the Grand Canyon National Park/Canyonlands National Park, announces a brand new addition to the wide array of thrilling experiences it offers on the Colorado River. Wilderness River Adventures is now offering river rafting trips through Cataract Canyon in Canyonlands National Park.

The new white water rafting trips by Wilderness River Adventures take visitors into the heart of Cataract Canyon which lies deep within Canyonlands National Park located in Southeast Utah. The expeditions start at Potash, just south of Moab, and traverse a total of 96 miles through Cataract Canyon, all the way to Hite Marina on Lake Powell. Along the journey, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of sculpted sandstone, hike to ancient Puebloan cliff dwellings to view primitive petroglyphs and granaries, and experience a unique blend of calm waters and exciting rapids all wrapped into one.

Cataract Canyon offers some of the premier white water rapids of the west, making trips down this part of the Colorado River a once-in-lifetime experience. These two, four and five day trips offer an excellent alternative for those who cannot commit to our longer trips in the Grand Canyon” says Breck Poulson, General Manager at Wilderness River Adventures. Visitors can choose between motorized or oar expeditions and each of the trips include all meals and camping gear. The rafting trips through Cataract Canyon can accommodate children as young 10 years of age. Wilderness River Adventures has more than 50 years of experience with all river rafting guides being CPR certified as well as Wilderness First responders.
