15- to 17-night sailings offered with $1,500 per person savings, $99 economy air fare and free excursions package

New York, April 2009 -- Travelers sailing with Peter Deilmann EuropAmerica Cruises can shake off the advent of cold weather blues with a choice of three sailings -- stepping aboard the luxurious and intimate 520-guest MS Deutschland and heading to sun-soaked ports in the southern U.S, Central America, the Caribbean and Mexico in November and December.  The 15-, 16- and 17-night voyages – offered with a host of savings incentives – each spend two nights in New Orleans, enabling travelers the chance to fully experience the city’s one-of-kind French, African and Caribbean cultural mix, world-class restaurants and jazz clubs.  Other highlights include stops in New York, Key West, Cozumel, Jamiaca, St. Barts, Martinique, Venezuela, Curacao and Panama.  Deilmann is offering $1,500 per person savings on all stateroom/suite categories, reducing fares to $4,320 to $19,150 per person, double.  Other incentives include $99 economy roundtrip air fare from dozens of North American gateways, or for those booking their own air, an additional $750 fare reduction; and a complimentary shore excursion package worth $600 per person.

Departing Baltimore on November 17, the 16-night cruise takes in the Northeast cities of Philadelphia, for visits to myriad world-class museums and historic landmarks; and New York, where guests can take in lively Times Square, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.  The ship spends most of a day headed up and back down the Mississippi River, where historic mansions line the banks and an impressive array of birds make their nests, before settling in New Orleans for two nights of fun.  Then off to Mexico, with calls at San.Miguel de Allende, whose magnificent colonial architecture plays backdrop to a multi-faceted culture and arts scene; and Progreso, with its tranquil white sand beaches and close proximity to the beautiful colonial city of Merida.  Disembarkation takes place in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Prices with the discount range from $4,820 to $17,510 per person, double.

In addition to Progreso, the 15-night sailing departing Jamaica on December 3, puts a spotlight on Central America, with calls at Honduras' largest port, Puerto Cortéz, boasting a new waterfront park and inviting beaches; and the smaller Guatemalan port of Santo Tomas de Castilla, where the nearby World Heritage site of Quiriguá offers some of the finest examples of Mayan sculptures.  Guests also get a taste of Americana, with visits to Galveston and its 30 miles of golden beaches, and Moody Mansion, depicting early 20th-century life among the area's bluebloods; and in Florida, St. Petersburg, extensive beaches, an array of eclectic shopping opportunities, and the Salvador Dali museum; and Key West, historic home to Audobon, Hemingway, Edison, Truman, Tennessee Williams and many other notable American greats.  Prices with savings are $4,320 to $15,440.

The MS Deutschland spends two nights in the festive and musical city of New Orleans, beginning December 18, before departing on a 17-night sailing.  A short stop in Key West is followed by a host  of Caribbean ports before a  crossing of  the Panama Canal and disembarking in Balboa, Panama.  Ports of call along the way include Margarita Island’s El Guamache off the coast of Venezuela; Puerto Rico's San Juan, where guests can explore Old San Juan  with its narrow, cobble-stoned streets, and the 400-plus-year-old San Felipe del Morro and San Cristobal fortresses; St. Barts' French-influenced Gustavia, with its red-roofed capital, French restaurants cafés, galleries and boutiques; and Fort-de-France, the largest city in the French West Indies.  Also on the Caribbean port roster are Scarborough, the capital of Tobago, where guests take in panoramic views of the town from the Fort King George overlook; Willemstad, whose city center is a World Heritage site because of its peculiar architecture and beautiful harbor; and Montego Bay, with majestic mountains rising in the background, its lively open markets and Rose Hall, former home of the of the country’s white witch, Annie Palmer.  Discounted fares range from $5,220 to $19,150.

The MS Deutschland, with 286 staterooms, is designed in the elegant style of the Edwardian and 1920 eras and provides guests with a more intimate cruising experience, thanks to a guest to crew ratio of two-to-one.  Features of the nine-deck ship include three gourmet restaurants, an outdoor dining terrace plus seven diverse bars and cafes; a spacious library lounge; outdoor and indoor pools; three sun decks and an open-air promenade deck; grand ballroom for nightly entertainment and dancing; and a wellness center equipped with fitness and spa facilities.  Smoking is not permitted onboard except in open deck areas, the Old Fritz Pub and Lili Marleen Bar.
