HURTIGRUTEN OFFERS 50% SAVINGS ON “WORLD’S MOST BEAUTIFUL VOYAGE”

03-04-2009

New York, NY, February 2009 -- Hurtigruten has announced price savings of 50% on most cabins (not suites) on their six- and seven-day Norwegian Coastal Voyages, described in Lonely Planet’s “Bluelist” as the “world’s most beautiful voyage.”  Sailing between the ports of Bergen and Kirkenes, the journey features an array of diverse and charming ports – from fishing villages in the rugged Lofoten Islands to Art Nouveau Alesund, and bustling cities like Tromso and Trondheim – as well as the stunning scenery of the numerous fjords along Norway's 1,250-mile west coast.  Cabin prices on the seven-day northbound voyage, originally $2,369 to $4,029, are now $1,185 to $2,015 per person, double; on the six-day southbound voyage, brochure rates of $1,860 to $3,160 have been reduced to $930 to $1,580.  The savings are valid on new bookings of most departures between May 1 and June 15 and is capacity-controlled.  This offer cannot be combined with other promotions.

Hurtigruten’s ships have been sailing the coast of Norway route for more than 100 years, skillfully wending their way between 34 ports, 365 days a year.  As a mainstay of Norwegian coastal communities, Hurtigruten offers guests an intimate view of Norway’s culture – locals often sail all or part of the route, and most are fluent in English – while enjoying the amenities and comfort of a modern cruise ship.  With breathtaking sights ranging from the Hanseatic wooden buildings of Bergen’s Bryggen Wharf to the midnight sun of the Arctic Circle and the magnificent Seven Sisters waterfalls, passengers will learn why National Geographic calls Norway “the world’s most unspoilt destination.”

Hurtigruten is a world leader in exploration cruising, sailing to some of the world's most remote destinations including Antarctica, Greenland and the Arctic’s Spitsbergen.  For more information on the cruise and optional excursions, contact Hurtigruten at (800) 323-7436 or (212) 319-1300; fax (212) 319-1390; for brochures, (800) 582-0835, 24 hours a day; www.hurtigruten.us.
