Sunday, August 23- Saturday August 29, 2009

 

Atlantic City, NJ, February 20, 2009 – The Second Annual Tuna Stakes Invitational Overnight Fishing Tournament swims into Atlantic City with a flexible format that allows participants to pick their one fishing day out of four available days, Monday, August 24 – Thursday, August 27.  

Early registration for the tournament before August 1 is available for a reduced fee of $625. Registration after August 1 is $725. Pay by cash, check or cashier’s check and receive a $25 discount. Entry fee includes four Awards Banquet tickets and one tee shirt.  

As a unique feature of this event, a boat may fish a second day of the tournament if they pay a second basic entry fee and any added skill level entries for that day if they choose. This decision must be made prior to a mandatory Captain’s Meeting and Kickoff Party on Sunday, August 23 at Trump Marina Hotel Casino beginning at 12 p.m. All fees must be paid at that time, including late registration.

Second Annual Tuna Stakes Invitational Overnight Fishing Tournament, add one

 

Tournament prizes totaling $10,000 will be awarded in the categories of Heaviest Tuna, Heaviest Yellowfin, Heaviest Bluefin, Heaviest Longfin, and Heaviest Big Eye. Prize amounts may increase depending on the number of participants.  An optional Added Skill Level Entry will be available for those who want to substantially increase their winnings. Each boat may be entered in as many skill levels as the participant feel their capabilities allow.

The winning team that accumulates the most combined points will be crowned the Grand Champion and will be invited to compete in the IGFA Offshore World Championship 2010 in Cabo San Lucas, and also receive a one year subscription to Marlin, Sport Fishing, Salt Water Magazine and Big Game Fishing Journal.

The Tuna Stakes Invitational Overnight Fishing Tournament also allows boats to leave any inlet between and including Manesquan Inlet south to Cape May Inlet.  Boats may leave anytime after 5 a.m., fishing from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. the following morning.  The weigh-in will be held at the Frank S. Farley State Marina in Atlantic City. The scales will be open at 12 p.m. each day.

The Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, August 29 from 2-6 p.m. in Trump Marina’s Bay View Room (subject to change). For those wishing to stay over, accommodations are available at Trump Marina at a reduced rate. Call 800-777-8477 and mention group code: FISH09.
