·         The Broward Center for the Performing Arts offers a lineup of stellar performances this winter. Highlights include Broadway hits such as The Drowsy Chaperone (January 1-13, 2008), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (January 29 – February 10, 2008) and Wicked (March 12–April 6, 2008); holiday classics such as The Radio City Christmas Spectacular - Starring the World Famous Rockettes (November 8–December 2, 2007) and The Nutcracker performed by the Miami City Ballet (December 21-23, 2007); musical events like Tony Bennett (December 6, 2007); Michael Flatley’s rhythmic Lord of the Dance (March 6-7, 2008); and the interactive comedy Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding (February 13 – March 2, 2008). ·         Christmas on Las Olas, Las Olas Boulevard, November 27, 2007, 6 pm:  A 40-plus year tradition, Christmas on Las Olas offers choirs, bell ringers, street performers and, for both the young and young at heart, and a “Snow Mountain.” Christmas on Las Olas takes place on Las Olas Blvd. from S.E. 6th Avenue to S.E. 11th Avenue. ·         Inspired by China: Contemporary Furniture makers Explore Chinese Traditions, Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, November 30, 2007–March 31, 2008:  The exhibition brings together 27 masterpieces of historic Chinese furniture – some from as early as the 16th Century – with 27 pieces of contemporary furniture created specifically for the exhibition. The 22 contributing artists were chosen from the United States, Canada, Japan and China. ·         Candy Cane Parade, Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, December 8, 2007:  Join the Hollywood Beach community for a parade fit for a penguin. ·         Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade, Intracoastal Waterway, December 15, 2007, 6:30 pm: The visually dazzling Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade has been named one of the “Top 20 Parades in the World” by USA Today. Thousands of brilliantly illuminated ships light up the night sky to the delight of massive crowds during this signature annual event.
