EXPERIENCE THE NEW PRADO EXTENSION

11-07-2007

MADRID, October 29, 2007) – To celebrate the reopening of Museo del Prado after its extensive renovations by Raphael Moneo, the Hotel Ritz Madrid has introduced an Art Program available for a limited time.  The hotel, located directly next door to the museum, is offering guests a chance to experience one of the most extensive renovations in the Prado’s 200 year history.

Available until December 23, 2007, the package price starts at €400 (approximately $572* US) per night for a minimum of two nights in a Classic Room based on double occupancy.  The Hotel may arrange a private car with chauffeur to visit Madrid (for three hours), at an additional supplement.

The Art Program includes:

  • Two nights stay in Classic Room.
  • Entrance to the Thyssen-Bornemiza Museum, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Prado Museum (private visits to the Prado with a guide can be arranged at a supplement).
  • Airport roundtrip transfers in a private limousine with chauffeur.
  • Delicious breakfast buffet in the Goya Restaurant.
  • One bottle of Cava (Spanish champagne) on ice upon arrival.
  • Welcome Ritz amenities.
  • Exclusive Ritz Afternoon Tea
  • One three-course dinner in the Ritz Restaurant Goya (beverage excluded).

This project is part of an ongoing expansion program that involves incorporation of various nearby buildings into the Prado and the restoration of others, such as the old Cloister of Los Jerónimos.  Upon completion, the Prado, which is located next door to the Ritz Madrid, will constitute a unique museum campus that will enormously increase the already rich facilities at the “Paseo del Prado,” located in the Spanish capital and considered one of the most important art and cultural districts in the world. The Thyssen-Bornemiza Museum and the Museo Reina Sofia are also parts of the Paseo del Prado.
