OFF EP STAYS FOR USVI PARADISE JAM, NOV. 21-29, 2008

 

ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (Sept. 24, 2008) -- Bolongo Bay Beach Resort (http://www.bolongobay.com), located in St. Thomas, is offering a 20% discount off nightly rates for the resort’s European Plan (EP) for all basketball fans coming to the destination Nov. 21-29, 2008, when St. Thomas hosts the 9th Annual U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam men’s and women’s tournaments, which are taking place Nov. 21-24, 2008 and Nov. 27 - 29, 2008 respectively at the University of the Virgin Islands.

Guests staying at Bolongo during the USVI Paradise Jam will enjoy accommodations in an ocean view room; a “discover scuba diving” in-pool lesson; and complimentary use of non-motorized watersports (snorkel gear, paddle boats, sunfish sailboats, windsurfing equipment, kayaks and much more).

Nightly EP rates (reflecting the 20% discount) start at $192 per room, based on double occupancy, plus 15% tax and service charges and $5 per day energy surcharge.

Eight Division I men’s basketball teams will participate in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Tournament including Connecticut, Iona, La Salle, Miami, San Diego, Southern Miss, Valparaiso and Wisconsin.  Competition begins on Nov. 21 with consecutive-day action culminating in the championship round on Nov. 24.

The eight Division I women’s basketball teams competing in this year’s Paradise Jam tournament include Baylor, California, Central Florida, Iowa, South Florida, Texas Tech, Villanova and Wisconsin.  Tip-off for the tournament is Nov. 27 with the finals taking place on Nov. 29.

Vacationers coming to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam tournament (or any other time) do not have to worry about having a passport.  As a territory of the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix) does not require American citizens to possess a passport to enter the destination or return to the U.S. mainland.  Therefore guests can make their reservations at Bolongo without worrying about a passport.
