Colonial Williamsburg Fall Programs

Williamsburg is beautiful in autumn, with temperatures in the mid-70s during the day and stunning fall foliage.  Here are a few quick things, but there is plenty more to talk about if you’d like more information. 

§  At Christiana Campbell’s Tavern, families can sip tea and nibble on tasty savories while being regaled with stories by the proprietress of the 18^th century tavern.  For over an hour, visitors learn about current events that coincide with the Revolutionary City program, the intricacies of tea and its history and enjoy the singing of a few tunes by a balladeer.

§  September 19 through 21 Colonial Williamsburg hosts a storytelling festival “Spinning Stories-Spanning Time: A Weekend of Stories Old and New,” providing visitors a weekend of tall tales, riveting drama and, more often than not, raucous comedy by some of the world’s best storytellers such as Milbre Burch, Donald Davis, and Susan Klein. 

§  Get a good scare for Halloween by participating in Legends, Myths, Mysteries, and Ghosts, a one-hour evening walking tour through Williamsburg’s storied streets.  Three people from the past will retell mystifying tales from colonial times. 

§  The Autumn Splendor Package gives visitors to Williamsburg the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and foliage while saving money.  The package, which is available August 31 through November 25, starts at $50 per person, per night and includes nightly accommodations, daily breakfast and a Colonial Williamsburg admission pass valid for length of stay.
