“Summer Restaurant Week Boston® is something to get excited about,” said Patrick B. Moscaritolo, President and CEO of the GBCVB.  “We have over 180 restaurants from across the Greater Boston area participating. Top chefs offer locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy gourmet meals from Asian and Argentinean to French and Italian to tapas and sushi.”

Summer Restaurant Week Boston® isn't just about great deals – participants can also support an important cause. During 2008 Summer Restaurant Week Boston®, American Express will donate 25 cents for every transaction made on any American Express Card, at participating restaurants, up to $10,000, to this year’s charitable partner, Project Bread’s Food for Kids Fund. *

“We are proud to continue our support this year of Summer Restaurant Week Boston®,” said Rebecca Krecke, vice-president, JetBlue Card from American Express.  “Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to sample the wonderful restaurants of Boston and we are delighted to also be able to give back to the community through this program.”

This year’s charitable partner, Project Bread’s Food for Kids Fund, a part of the organization’s effort to expand the Summer Food Service Program in Massachusetts, ensures that thousands of low-income children receive adequate nutrition when school is not in session.  Summer meals, which are free for all children age 18 and under, are located at schools, parks, public pools, neighborhood centers, social service organizations and other sites in cities and towns.

Additional sponsors of Summer Restaurant Week Boston® include Greater Media, Inc., NECN’s ‘TV Diner’ and J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines.
