Tips & Bits

9/11 Exhibit Opens in France
A new exhibit at France's Caen Memorial museum recounts the story and consequences of the terrorist attacks in America on September 11, 2001. Organized in cooperation with the New York State Museum, this large-scale exhibit gathers together numerous objects, images, films, and testimonies to tell the story of this day on which more than 2,700 perished. The history of the search and police operations are also told through objects found among the debris.

The exhibit also profiles the lives of 10 victims and people who helped in the rescue efforts through their possessions, all of which were either found in the debris after the attacks or donated later to the New York State Museum.

The exhibition will run through December 31, 2008. Entrance is included with the purchase of a standard museum ticket, however tickets are also available for entrance to the exhibit only (€5 per person). Visit www.memorial-caen.fr for more information.
