Charleston Restaurant Heads Outdoors for Independence Day Celebration

Like many families throughout the country,Charleston restaurant will take its Fourth of July celebration to the lawn. The AAA Four Diamond, Mobil Four Star Charleston restaurant will host its third annual Sizzling Summer Celebration on the lawn of the AAA Five Diamond Wentworth Mansion® hotel on July 4 at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature traditional Southern dishes hot off the grill, live music and a fabulous fireworks view.

On the menu is a selection of upscale summer fare like local tomato salad with herb mayonnaise, peach mustard barbequed pork, spiced cucumber and melon salad, roasted yellow corn, German potato salad, Carolina peel ‘n eat shrimp and organic grilled chicken breast with garlic key lime rub.

A live jazz soloist will provide the music as guests dine under the Charleston stars. Afterward, everyone will head to the Mansion’s rooftop cupola, offering panoramic views of historic Charleston, to watch the city’s fireworks display while enjoying a glass of champagne. The cost of the event is $65/person, including the glass of champagne, but excluding tax, gratuity and additional beverages.

The Wentworth Mansion® is also offering a package for those who want to stay overnight that includes two nights’ accommodations, the Sizzling Southern Celebration for two, tax and gratuity for dinner, but excluding beverages and room tax. The cost is $975 per couple.

Set inside the historic carriage house for the award-winning Wentworth Mansion® hotel at 149 Wentworth St. in Charleston, S.C., Circa 1886 is a AAA Four Diamond, Mobil Four Star restaurant offering traditional southern cuisine with a modern twist in a sophisticated, historic setting. Executive Chef Marc Collins, named by Esquire Magazine as a chef to watch in 2002 and co-founder of the successful BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival, presents innovative southern dishes, which draw on the rich culinary history of Charleston during the time period when the Mansion was constructed.
