Statewide Packages and Rebates Encourage Travelers to get Back on the Road

 

NEW YORK, May 21, 2008 New York State is offering packages and incentives that conserve gas, giving travelers the opportunity to get away without worrying about the cost of fuel. With predictions of gas prices reaching as high as $4 per gallon, travelers are becoming increasingly conscientious of how often they use their cars. New York State’s gas-saving getaways provide value-minded ways to experience the diverse beauty of The Empire State this summer. Gas-saving incentives include:

 

  • The Inn at Lake Joseph, Forestburgh, NY offers a “Spending Spree” getaway. The package reimburses visitors on all transportation and fuel purchases within Sullivan County including rental cars, public transportation and gas purchases. At checkout, visitors present their receipts and are reimbursed for up to half the cost of their stay. The package requires a two-night minimum stay and is valid Sunday-Thursday. Not valid July, August, weekends or holidays. Rates start at $145 a night.

  • Greenwoods Bed and Breakfast, Honeoye, NY invites visitors to stay any two consecutive weeknights and receive a $25 gas card with the “Tanks a Lot” package. Guests staying any three weekdays will receive an additional 10 percent off the cost of accommodations. Rates start at $109 per night.

This package cuts the cost of transporting trailers to and from the park by encouraging travelers to reserve an on-site spot for a minimum of three weekends throughout the summer.
