Views from the Uffizi: Painting the Italian Landscape

A selection of 40 paintings from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, surveys the evolution of landscape painting in Italy over three centuries, from the Renaissance through the 18th century. Included are works by artists such as Botticelli, Guercino, Poussin, Claude Lorrain, and Canaletto. This exhibition is organized by Contemporanea Progetti, Florence, Italy, in collaboration with the Trust for Museum Exhibitions.

Small Paintings

Diminutive oil paintings from the Taft Museum of Art and the Cincinnati Art Museum offer an intimate experience of collecting tastes at the turn of the 20th century. Featured are tiny paintings by 18th- and 19th-century artists from France, Holland, Belgium, and the United States. Keystone Gallery Partner:  Mr. and Mrs. Michael T. Chamber Music Series: Celebration Brass

The final concert of the season takes place under the tent on the terrace and features an eclectic mix of classical and pops tunes for brass instruments. This concert is FREE, with admission charged to visit galleries. No reservations are taken. Call (513) 684-4515 for information.

Summer Camp, Grades 3-5

Children can explore their creative sides this summer at the Taft Museum of Art. Each week offers fun, intensive studios looking at, thinking about, and creating art. This year, the focus is on landscapes in a variety of media: painting, sculpture, collage, and much more.

Campers will discover works of art through gallery tours and engage in hands-on art activities. The week ends with an exhibition organized by campers and staff for family and friends. Instruction is provided by Sarah Jane Bellamy (Forest Hills School District) assisted by Museum staff and interns from local university art education programs.

Cost for this program is $175 for members (Family/Dual+), $225 for all others
