Kamloops, British Columbia’s sunniest adventure destination, is filled with both fun and cultural attractions. From soft leisure to hardcore mountain biking; exquisite shops, spas and fine dining to horseback riding, parachuting and hang gliding – its all here.
Beautiful scenery - rock bluffs, rolling farmland, mountain lakes - provide a stunning backdrop for outdoor adventures. Fall is fishing season and, with hundreds of lakes and two rivers close at hand, it is a great destination for fishing, kayaking and river rafting.

Kamloops has working ranches of all sorts and even offers the opportunity to understand horse whispering. Many of BC’s best ranches are in the area with opportunities to tour Historic Hat Creek Ranch and the O’Keefe Ranch.

Get up close and personal with a porcupine at the BC Wildlife Park and experience the amazing terrestrial wildlife of Super Natural British Columbia where there is more species diversity than any other province in Canada! The Park features over 60 species of wildlife spread out on 50 hectares. Every December and January the park is illuminated with over 400,000 lights creating 350 life-size wildlife sculptures. Take a ride aboard the Wildlife Express miniature train and get lost in a spectacular Giant Maze.

Journey back in time aboard the Kamloops Heritage Railways’ Ghost Train and join the lost souls of a passenger train missing since October 31, 1915 as they encounter the foul creatures of the night that haunt the living. The Spirit of Christmas train takes passengers back to the holidays of old with carolers, hot chocolate, coloured lights and of course, a visit with Santa and the elves.

Kamloops, the city where rivers and people meet, is a 4-hour drive from downtown Vancouver via the Coquihalla Highway. Full service air and rail connections in the city cater to travelers from every corner of the globe, with hotels to cater to every need, whether for a romantic getaway, a young family, or a corporate golf tournament.
