NEW YORK, April 14, 2008 � Public displays of affection, high fives and the word �awesome� really aren�t very British.� To find out what is, then you should meet our British Friends.� They are real people living all over Britain who will be sharing their personal British experiences, as part of the second year of the �be a Brit different� consumer marketing campaign sponsored by VisitBritain, the national tourist office for England, Scotland and Wales.�

Americans visiting www.visitbritain.com/us can connect with these British Friends who will help them have a brilliant (amazing) time on their next trip to Britain.� Our British Friends will reveal the best spots to grab a bite (eat some food) at the local chippies (fish and chip restaurants), for heading to a local pub to check out a local band, have a pint (beer) or watch a match (soccer game), and other tips that you could only get from a local.�

Our British Friends hail from England�s North Country, Heart of England, London, South West England and Wales and they are as diverse as their regions.�� Meet some of them for yourself.
������ Peter, who is from Edinburgh, Scotland, resides in Ravenglass in the Western Lake District in England�s North Country.� He is a former veterinarian turned castle owner.� Peter will help you to discover the largest owl sanctuary at Muncaster Castle, as well as to take the Ravenglass Eskdale Railway to see the spectacular Hardknott Roman Fort.
