The Olive Press, the most highly awarded producer of California extra virgin olive oil, has moved locations.  The Olive Press formerly located in Glen Ellen, has moved to its new home inside Jacuzzi Family Vineyards Winery.  The olive oil tasting room and gift store is dedicated to “all things olive.”

The unique facility is designed to meet the custom pressing needs of commercial producers, as well as growers with small harvests and hobbyists wishing to create “estate” olive oil from home grown olives.  The impressive state-of-the-art Pieralisi processing equipment makes all of this possible.

Figone’s of California Olive Oil Company Opens in Glen Ellen

Figone’s of California Olive Oil Company opened in March 2007 in the quaint town of Glen Ellen, in the space formerly home to The Olive Press, in Jack London Village.  The Figone family is regarded as one of the pioneers in California’s olive oil industry.  The Figone family began their quest for olive oil in 1907 and has been producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil ever since. The Glen Ellen location is their first retail location and their first location in Sonoma; two other locations are in Tracy and Valley Spring, California.

In an effort to ensure that Figone’s olive oil meets a strict extra virgin standard, the oil is milled, blended and bottled on-site.  Late fall through early winter is the best time to watch the entire process at their Glen Ellen production facility.  Visitors are encouraged to drop by for a glimpse of the Figone olive oil production. Figone’s offers custom milling for anyone who has over 500 pounds of olives. They offer their village mill every Saturday in November and December for anyone with 10-500 pounds of olives. The village mill is a blend of several customers’ grapes
