NEW COLORADO ADVENTURE HIKES

 

The new Colorado Adventure Package offers guests a unique opportunity to summit two Colorado “Fourteeners” (14,000 foot peaks – the highest in Colorado), back-to-back, with support from the Beaver Creek Hiking Center. This program will feature trained and seasoned guides, as well as use of Hiking Center gear including Salomon hiking boots, Leki trekking poles and Mountain Smith packs, as well as plenty of energy-boosting snacks and beverages. Beaver Creek Hiking Center guides are well-versed in the flora and fauna, and the history of the Colorado backcountry, as well as helpful techniques to maximize energy and minimize muscle fatigue during high-altitude hiking.  

 

The Beaver Creek Hiking Center’s new Historic Excursion “drive and hike” adventures offer a peek at some of Colorado’s most picturesque historic mining and ghost towns including Minturn, Holy Cross City, Leadville, Red Cliff, and Hagerman Pass. Historic Excursion group tours are offered once a week and are low-intensity, providing the perfect day trip for outdoor and history enthusiasts of all ages and levels.  The Beaver Creek Hiking Center offers a full menu of outdoor options ranging from “Fourteener” hikes to guided mountain bike tours to supported European treks.  Call the Hiking Center at (970) 754-5737.

 

GOLF NEWS

 

Visitors to Beaver Creek Golf Course’s newly redeveloped course will find a redesigned clubhouse, including new golf shop, members lounge and Rendezvous Club restaurant.  For the past four years, crews have been reshaping and realigning bunkers to more closely resemble the original course design. In addition, a new drainage system was installed and new sand added for better course playability, and new cart paths, golf carts, and landscaping were also included.

 

Stay and Play

Stay two nights at The Charter at Beaver Creek and play one round of golf at the Beaver Creek Golf Course for $219 per person.  Package includes two nights in a lodge room, based on double occupancy and one round of golf per person.  Two-person minimum.  Offer is valid from May 16-June 6, 2008.  Taxes and gratuities not included. FAMILY HIKE BY DAY, RAFT BY NIGHT

Combined with invigorating activities, such as yoga, hiking and more, the culinary packages provide an experiential – and fun – getaway option.

 

Spago, the flagship restaurant of master chef Wolfgang Puck and the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, opened at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in December 2007. The 4,400 square foot, 126-seat restaurant offers Spago’s classics as well as new signature dishes locally inspired by the surrounding environment.
