Maps: Finding Our Place in the World

The Maps Exhibition and The Festival of Maps The Maps Exhibition is in full swing. Come face to face with some of the world's greatest cartographic treasures, featuring a variety of unique and rare artifacts including three maps by Leonardo da Vinci, J.R.R. Tolkien's map of Minas Tirith, and Thomas Jefferson's map of the proposed contours of the states of the Union.

Also, In celebration of The Maps Exhibition, Baltimore presents Festival of Maps. Enjoy exploring the rich history and interpretations of maps and the diversity amongst Baltimore's neighborhoods and institutions. Come find your place in the world and experience the most ambitious touring exhibition devoted to maps in more than 50 years.

The AST Dew Tour: Panasonic Open

It's Back! Returning for a second year, the AST Dew Tour kicks off the summer tour in Baltimore for the Panasonic Open, June 20-22, at the Camden Yards Sports Complex. Four packed days will feature skateboard (vert and park), BMX (vert, park, and dirt), and Freestyle Motocross. Over 150 of the best action sports athletes in the world will be in Baltimore to compete in the competition, including Ryan Sheckler, star of MTV's Life of Ryan, Baltimore's Hometown Hero, Bucky Lasek, Dave Mirra and Nate Adams. Looking Through the Lens

Now at the Baltimore Museum of Art is Looking Through the Lens, an exhibition that features more than 150 striking vintage prints, showcasing groundbreaking modern photography. Discover some of the world's best-known 20th century photographers including iconic images by European and American artists such as Man Ray, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston, Paul Strand, Dorothea Lange, and Gordon Parks. Drawn from the BMA's outstanding collection, come visit this rarely shown photography exhibition showing until June 8.
