CAREN AND JOHN KEMPF ARE HOSTS TO DISTINCT BLOCK ISLAND INNS

03-27-2008

Seasonal Packages, Comfort and Hospitality make these Block Island retreats perfect for Honeymoon, Anniversary Romance

BLOCK ISLAND, Rhode Island, March 2008 - Caren and John Kempf's personal story and their deep passion for Block Island have lead them to purchasing and running three unique Inns (www.theinnatblockisland.com) which have become New England's go-to destinations. Guests can expect a warm welcome, comfort and reasonable rates and specials.  These Block Island retreats are a place to unwind and relax whether you are heading to the Island for a family vacation or are looking for a romantic weekend getaway.

The couple's unique story begins with their meeting at a very special friend's home in 1996; it was love at first sight.  Caren and John visited and spent their summers on Block Island and fell in love with the stunning beauty of the Island.  With their four children and two best friends in their wedding party, Caren and John married on Block Island on July 4, 1999 at the South East Lighthouse.

This always positive-follow your dreams team knew that visiting Block Island was not enough, so happily married with four kids and two grandchildren, they decided to take a chance and pursued their dream of developing Island Inns LLC: The Jane Marie Cottage, The Inn at Block Island and the Barrington Inn.  Island Inns hold a special place not only for the Kempf's and their family but in the history books as well.

The Inn at Block Island
Built in 1900,
The Inn at Block Island, a Victorian farmhouse overlooking the town and harbor, used to be called the "Adrian" after Adrian Block, the Dutch navigator and explorer who founded the island. The inn has nine guest rooms and a cottage, all with private baths, satellite TV and air conditioning. The Fleur de Lys Suite offers panoramic views of Crescent Beach to Clayhead from a private deck, a king bed, Jacuzzi tub, satellite TV, air conditioning, microwave, and a small refrigerator. The two-bedroom Doll House Cottage next door is ideal for a small family.  The Inn at Block Island is just two blocks from the beach, town, and ferry, and is open May through October.

The Barrington Inn
The Barrington Inn, which is open year round, is an 1886 Victorian home that offers six guest rooms and two private apartments, all with private baths, some with decks and spectacular views of New Harbor, Clay Head and beyond. The Barrington is a short walk to the beach and is conveniently located near dining, shopping or site-seeing.
Don't forget to call ahead for your chocolate-covered berries and champagne which, upon your request, could be waiting for you in your room.

The Jane Marie Cottage
Renovated with care by the Kempfs, The Jane Marie Cottage was named in memory of John's sister.  Situated next to The Inn at Block Island, this sensational house is available for weekly rentals and can comfortably accommodate up to 18 guests.  Ideal for the wedding party and their guests, large family reunions or multiple family vacationers, The Jane Marie Cottage is a breathtakingly beautiful choice, perfect for any occasion on Block Island, with ocean views of Mansion beach, Clay Head and the Block Island coastline.

All Inns offer modern amenities which include lovely linens, comfortable mattresses and private bathrooms for each room.  Bikes are reserved for guests and there are pet friendly rooms available. Caren serves home baked treats such as scones and cookies in addition to a delectable full breakfast which includes their famous oven baked blueberry French toast, egg frittatas and fresh fruit salad. Caren and John's afternoon social gathering is not to be missed where they serve wine, hors d'ouvres and warm cookies. It's a great time to mingle and share adventures of the day while watching the sunset and the kids play in the yard.

"We so love Block Island and we want to share what we have here with anyone who is looking for a special place to stay.a home away from home minus the busy schedule and chores! And don't forget all those stars that light up the beautiful night sky.  Nothing is better than that," exclaims Caren!
