OAT INTRODUCES NEW ADVENTURE TO TUNISIA FOR 2008

03-26-2008

Book by April 30th and Save $600 Per Couple

BOSTON, MA-Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT), the leader in international adventure, value, and discovery for Americans aged 50 and older, is pleased to introduce a new adventure for 2008: "Tunisia: from the Mediterranean to the Sahara."  The 15-day, small group adventure will bring Americans across this fascinating North African country, connecting them with a rich variety of terrains, people and cultures.  The adventure begins at $2695 and includes international airfare from Boston or New York, but travelers who book by April 30th will save $300 per person ($600 per couple).

OAT's Tunisia adventure will take small groups of 10-16 travelers from the Mediterranean shores where Hannibal set sail from ancient Carthage to oasis towns where nomads still cross the Sahara to trade.  Along the way, travelers will explore the ruins of ancient Carthage; cross Kasserine Pass, the site of a pivotal World War II battle; share dinner at a local family's home; mingle with Tunisia's Arab, Berber and Jewish communities; ride camels in an oasis; explore souks (local markets) alive with colors and crafts; and visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites-from the Tuni medina to the Tozeur oasis.  Travelers will visit Tunis, Carthage, Sousse, Kairouan, Tozeur & Douz Oases, and the Island of Djerba.

The adventure includes international airfare from Boston or New York; accommodations for 13 nights (4 nights in Tunis, 2 in Sousse, 1 in Kairouan, 3 in Tozeur, 1 in Douz, 2 in Djerba); 30 meals (13B, 9L, 8D); small group activities; all land transportation plus an internal flight; services of a local resident OAT Trip Leader; and more. For travelers wishing to extend their vacation, OAT offers a pre-trip, four-night stay in Marrakesh, Morocco and a post-trip, three-night stay that includes tented camping in the Sahara-each from $795.

"Tunisia: from the Mediterranean to the Sahara" departs October through December 2008.  Prices range from $2695-$3195, depending on departure date, but travelers will save $300 per person for bookings by April 30th.  For more information or a free catalog, please call OAT at 1-800-873-5628.  For a video presentation of  "Tunisia: from the Mediterranean to the Sahara," please visit our website at www.oattravel.com.
