New Victoria Jenna to be Hailed Largest, Most Elaborate Vessel on the Yangtze

10-13-2007

Victoria Cruises, the pre-eminent cruise company sailing China’s Yangtze River, will grow its fleet to eight vessels with the introduction of the new Victoria Jenna in April 2009.  When the Victoria Jenna edges out of port on April 26, 2009, it will be the largest and most luxurious vessel plying Yangtze waters.

“Expanding our fleet with the addition of a vessel the caliber of the Victoria Jenna is evidence of our commitment to providing travelers with an unsurpassed vacation experience,” said Benson Wu, vice president of Victoria Cruises.  “As with our entire fleet, the Victoria Jenna will be built to the highest international standards and offer impeccable service and exceptional amenities,” Wu added.

The Victoria Jenna will be the largest ship in the company’s five-star fleet and have the highest passenger capacity and most suites of all vessels sailing the mighty Yangtze.

The Victoria Jenna will feature 209 cabins (186 standard accommodations, 19 junior suites, two deluxe suites and two Shangri-la suites) for a total passenger capacity of 418 (and a crew of 179).  At a gross tonnage of approximately 10,000, the five-passenger-deck vessel will be 438.9 feet long and 61.7 feet wide with a draft of 8.5 – 8.8 feet.

All cabins will have televisions with HBO and CNN broadcasts, private bathroom with a shower and bathtub, and a private balcony so guests can appreciate the magnificent views of the Yangtze River.  The Victoria Jenna will feature two dining rooms (a single seating main dining room and an a la carte restaurant), a fitness room, lecture room (for talks about the river’s history and lessons in Tai Chi, Mandarin language and mah jong), library/reading room, the Yangtze Club (theatre-style night club), cocktail lounge, beauty salon, gift shop, spacious observation deck, business center, Internet access, health clinic, four elevators and an atrium lobby.

Decorated in the same deluxe style as other Victoria Cruises’ vessels, the Victoria Jenna will feature tastefully-appointed cabins and elegant atriums with sparkling chandeliers and gleaming woods.  The overall décor throughout the ship will be highlighted by American and European influences with Asian accents.

The Victoria Jenna will sail Victoria Cruises’ highly-acclaimed Three Gorges Highlights program, both upstream and downstream between Chongqing and Yichang, as well the round-trip Three Gorges Explorer itinerary sailing Chongqing – Yichang – Chongqing.  The 2009 sailing dates for all eight ships in the Victoria Cruises fleet are available.
