Celebrate spring with Nantucket Island Resorts

03-23-2008

After months of cold island weather and quiet cobblestone streets, Nantucket Island Resorts is heralding spring with enormous deals that are sure to soothe one’s nerves about the weak dollar. This spring, take a break from the stresses of everyday life without breaking the bank.

A Whale of a Deal

Guests of the “Seaing is Believing” package at The Cottages at the Boat Basin and the Jared Coffin House get some of the best deals of the spring. The Cottages provide the perfect time to catch up on a good book or enjoy the uninhibited views of sun, sea, and sky on the dock overlooking beautiful Nantucket Bay. Spring rates at The Cottages run from $162 a night (summer rates start at $490 a night). In town, the Jared Coffin House, a historic inn that combines antiques with modern luxuries, is just steps away from the Nantucket Whaling Museum as well as restaurants and boutiques that are opening their doors after a long winter season. While in-town boarding might seem pricey during the summer, spring at the Jared Coffin House means lower prices with room rates at $124 a night.

Landmark Location for Less

The White Elephant has been a Nantucket landmark since the 1920s, and guests of all generations have spent summers on its lawns. While the summer tradition continues, it is a little known secret that the best time to visit Nantucket is in the spring and fall, and some of the best-kept secrets are just meant to be shared. From April 11-13, the White Elephant opens with rates that are just “Too Good to be True” starting at $175 a night (compared to peak summer rates when guestrooms can price at $600). If you miss that boat, fear not, as a significantly reduced rate of $245 a night continues until June 19.

Paradise Found

For those craving a more secluded vacation, The Wauwinet is nine miles outside of town. The luxuriously private inn is Nantucket’s only Relais and Châteaux property, and the 32 rooms and guest cottages provide the necessary comforts to let you slip into peaceful relaxation. The Wauwinet offers spring rates at $290 a night from May 4 until June 22 (summer guests pay $700), leaving plenty of spending money for Nantucket keepsakes.

Bargain Boating

Taking a cruising vacation? With a 240 slip, full-service marina, the Nantucket Boat Basin, located just blocks away from the center of town, is a welcoming accommodation for seasoned and novice boaters alike. Enjoy all of the luxuries provided by Nantucket from the comforts of your own boat. Guests of the Boat Basin have access to the White Elephant Spa as well as 15% off at the White Elephant’s Brant Point Grill and Jared Coffin House’s Harbor Wok. If that’s not enough, from April 15-June 20, stay at the Nantucket Boat Basin for two nights and get the third night free.
