Midwest's only zipline canopy tour coming to Ohio's Hocking Hills

Logan, Ohio - The only experience of its kind found anywhere in the Midwest, Hocking Hills Canopy Tours, will open to the public on Friday, April 4, 2008 in southeast Ohio's spectacular Hocking Hills. Billed as "nature lover meets thrill seeker," these one-of-a-kind tours treat guests to a breathtaking experience as they soar above a series of unique Hocking Hills vistas for an eagles-eye view of some of North America's most magnificent scenery.  Reservations are required and can be made at www.hockinghilllscanopytours.com or (740) 385-9477.

Experienced, professional guides will provide guests with a safety and equipment orientation before leading them along 10 ziplines, traversing four adventure sky bridges and rappelling back to ground level at the finish line. The experience features amazing views from each observation platform. Built and certified to meet all Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) standards, Hocking Hills Canopy Tours will not only educate visitors on native vegetation and wildlife, but will also keep them feeling safe and secure the entire time as they soar from zero to 70 feet above the ground.  All that's required is a pair of close-toed shoes, comfortable clothing and eyes ready to devour nature at its finest.  Helmet-cam will capture the guest's unforgettable experience.

The thrill kicks off with transportation along a 1.5-mile scenic nature trail to the beginning of the course where the Mighty Oak awaits.  From that point, each unique zipline and adventure sky bridge allow guests to zip from tree to tree, experiencing striking views all along the way, including a natural cave, the Hocking River, a beaver dam, a majestic 300-year-old sycamore tree and many dramatic rock and cliff formations.  Canopy tour guests finally land in a lush "Garden of Eden."

Located 40 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio, Hocking Hills offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences that make every day feel like Saturday.  The region boasts a wide variety of affordable lodging options, from camping, cabins and cottages to hotels and country inns. In addition to numerous hiking trails, parks and forests, the Hocking Hills area offers unique gift and antique shops, canoeing, horseback riding, golf and more.  Complete traveler information on accommodations, festivals and the many sites in the Hocking Hills region is available online at www.1800Hocking.com or toll-free at 1-800-HOCKING.
